English Research Seminar --- Kaite O'Reilly New Soup from Old Bones - on adaptation and reinvention

School of English Research Seminar featuring playwright Kaite O'Reilly. New Soup from Old Bones – on adaptation and reinvention.

From the earliest extant play in the Western theatrical canon, through the Welsh Medieval treasure The Mabinogion, to Strindberg's Miss Julie, Kaite O'Reilly has made a career out of reinterpreting ancient texts for a contemporary audience. She will discuss her various approaches and share video excerpts from her bilingual Woman of Flowers (spoken and visual languages) and site-specific Persians, performed on a firing range on Ministry of Defence land (winner of the Ted Hughes Award for New Works in Poetry).
