EAP conference 2020 -- Anybody out there: addressing audiences in academic discourse

The International Education Institute will hold its 10th EAP conference with plenary talks from Ursula Wingate from King's College London and Zak Lancaster from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.

The aim of the 2020 conference is to explore the concept of audience in academic discourse, both spoken and written. Audience can be understood from the students' perspective: they are required to write and speak in various genres and different disciplines. We can also consider the student audiences that we -- EAP professionals and other academics -- address in our work. The language required in these widely varying contexts is complex and nuanced, and both difficult to teach and develop.

The conference promises a day of engaging presentations and discussions around these contexts.
