Dr Mahmoud Abdallah --- guest lecture Relationality and theological knowledge: Reflections on the human-to-human encounter considering al-Ġazālī's concept of friendship.

Dr Mahmoud Abdallah is a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Islamic Theology at the University of Tübingen in Germany. He is visiting St Andrews for two weeks within the Erasmus+ Mobility scheme. His research interests are in the areas of Islamic pastoral care and social work; interreligious dialogue and ‘the State and Religion'. His next book, ‘Prophet Stories and the Question of Hermeneutics: Ethical and Pedagogical Reflections for Islamic Pastoral Care' is to be published, in German, this year.
