Bio
Ahmed Abozaid is a political scientist from Egypt. He holds a PhD from the Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV), University of St Andrews (2022). Ahmed is a postdoc fellow at Columbia University's Program on Exiting Violence (2021-2022). Now Ahmed is Assistant Professor of International Security at University of Southampton.

His first English monograph on “Counterterrorism Strategies in Egypt: Permanent Exceptions in the War on Terror” is published by Routledge's Critical Terrorism Studies Series 2022. His forthcoming books include “Theories of International Relations and the Study of War and Peace, 2vols” with Qatar University Press; and “Theories of International Relations and the study of Arab Uprisings: A Critical Investigation” with Syracuse University Press.

Ahmed also published five books in Arabic and more than 70 peer-reviewed papers in leading peer-reviewed English & Arabic journals.

According to the Arab Citation & Impact Factor (ARCIF), between 2012 and 2022, of more than 3000 researchers from over 20 countries, Ahmed was listed among the top three most cited & most influential Arab scholars in the fields of Political Science and International Relations.
