Creative Writing with Nadine Aisha Jassat

Join acclaimed poet and creative practitioner Nadine Aisha Jassat for a creative writing workshop in connection with our new exhibition, Re-collecting Empire. This workshop will explore creative writing techniques to explore some of the themes inspired by the exhibition, and will include: Individual and group writing exercises, group discussion of poetry which explores issues of empire in museum collections, time spent in the museum space exploring your own creative responses (whether to the Re-collecting empire exhibition or to wider items in the museum collection).
Bring whatever writing tools you're most comfortable with – pen and paper, laptop or smart phone, voice recorder, whatever works best for you. Expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere where participants are encouraged to go at their own pace, and an afternoon of engaging creative writing activities!
