City of Sanctuary consultation session

As part of the University's Sanctuary Celebration Week (Monday 7 to Friday 11 March), marking the second anniversary of officially becoming a University of Sanctuary, the University will facilitate this session for students, staff, and the local community.

A City of Sanctuary is a network contributing to the movement for welcome and inclusion in the UK, with the aim of promoting understanding, recognition and celebration of the ways in which people seeking sanctuary enrich society. We want to work working with key stakeholders across our local community (St Andrews and beyond) to explore the City of Sanctuary initiative further.

This session will consider the concept of a City of Sanctuary and hear from those who have experience working with a university and an external community to establish the initiative, and will include a question and answer session.

Presentations will include information on University of Sanctuary at St Andrews and the City of Sanctuary nationally, and there will be a Q&A opportunity to further explore the initiative with representatives from Fife Migrants Forum and Refugee Action St Andrews (RASA).

The event is open to all. Please register your interest in attending by emailing [email protected].
