Title: Groups, permutations and bases

Abstract: The notion of a base for a permutation group is a classical concept in group theory, which has been widely studied since the 19th century, finding a wide range of applications and connections to other areas of mathematics. In this talk, I will introduce some base-related concepts, and I will mention recent advances in the study of bases, as well as some related problems.
