Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Computational Algebra (CIRCA) seminar

Ozgur Akgun and Colva Roney-Dougal will speak at this CIRCA lunchtime seminar.

Oz's Title: Modelling and solving BIBDs with Conjure

Oz's Abstract: Following Rosemary's nice talk on experiment design, I wanted to go over how we use CP to model and find Balanced Incomplete Block Designs (BIBDs). This will be more like a live tutorial than a research talk.

Colva's Title: Product replacement in permutation groups

Colva's Abstract: The product replacement algorithm is a way to make random elements of a finite group. I'll describe the algorithm, say what we know about how well it works, and present some recent work on how well it works when the group is a group or permutations.
