CCRHR Inaugural Annual Lecture, Baroness Shami Chakrabarti, 'Human Rights: The Case for the Defence' Centre for the Critical Reimagining of Human Rights Event
The Centre for the Critical Reimagining of Human Rights (CCRHR) is delighted to welcome Baroness Shami Chakrabarti to give the Centre's Inaugural Annual Lecture. Baroness Chakrabarti is a leading British human rights lawyer and campaigner who has written and broadcast widely and has held a number of public roles in recent decades. Director of Liberty (the National Council for Civil Liberties) from 2003 to 20016, she was Shadow Attorney General for England and Wales from 2016 to 2020. In moment in which they are endangered, Baroness Chakrabarti will consider why human rights matter and why we need to secure further rights to deal with challenges of the present and future.
