Burns Night Celebration 2025 Celebrate the Bard on his birthday at the University of St Andrews

Dust off the January blues and get out those dancing shoes!

We're celebrating all things Burns so why not come and join us for an evening of drams, haggis and dancing.

The evening will begin at 6pm with a welcome drink in the grandeur of Lower College Hall, which will be followed by a four-course themed dinner, with haggis course, incorporating the best of local and Scottish produce.

Included in the package are wines to be served with dinner (half bottle per person), delicious tablet supplied by Fisher and Donaldson and a dram of whisky supplied by Luvians Bottle Shops, as well as admission to the ceilidh.

Traditional entertainment will feature throughout the evening and will include an address to the haggis and Burns poetry.

The evening will also feature guest speaker Brian Taylor delivering the ‘Immortal Memory' which is guaranteed to be amusing as it is moving.

Brian is a former BBC Political Editor and now columnist for The Herald. Both he and his wife Pam are graduates of the University of St Andrews.

For 50 years, Brian and his fellow St Andrews alumni have come together to honour Scotland's Bard and look forward to continuing the tradition here in St Andrews.

After dinner you will be piped to Younger Hall to enjoy an evening of traditional dancing with music provided by the brilliant Red Bothy Ceilidh Band until late. A pay as you go bar will be available, offering card payment only.

If haggis is not your thing why not join us for a dance and a song. Tickets for the ceilidh only are also available.

Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to attend and we'd love to see you there for an evening celebrating our Bard!
