Teaching Seminar with Dr Sapnoti Eswar, St Andrews Business School Designing Engaging Learning Experiences for Economics and Finance Students

In this presentation, some strategies for designing engaging learning experiences for students are shared by Dr Sapnoti Eswar, Lecturer in the University's Business School.

Keeping students' attention is harder than ever. Student engagement is, arguably, one of several essential components of classroom management, leading to better learning outcomes. The benefits and potential downsides of student engagement strategies in active classrooms, including formative assessments, peer grading, pre-class work, and case studies, will be discussed.

Dr Eswar will share some of the successes and failures faced as her method of teaching moved from passive learning to active learning.
