Biblical Studies research seminar -- Martinmas 2024, week 1 Prof John Barclay (Durham), "Threatened with Sale? The Occasion, Strategy, and Purpose of Paul's Letter to Philemon"

Weekly research seminars for biblical studies are held throughout both terms. Each semester, a central topic is chosen and postgraduates, faculty, and visiting scholars meet to present and discuss related research. Seminars often extend into a local pub, allowing for continued discussion and further interaction with presenters. Seminars will take place on Thursdays from 2pm to 3.30pm and will be a mix of in-person (College Hall, St Mary's College) and online (dates as indicated in the seminar schedule). Contact Dr Madhavi Nevader ([email protected]) for the Teams link.

This week's speaker will be Prof John Barclay of Durham University, who will speak on the topic ‘Threatened with Sale? The Occasion, Strategy, and Purpose of Paul's Letter to Philemon'.
