Making light of the great dark? Andrew Lang on American literature Andrew Lang Memorial Lecture 2026

Dr Tom Hubbard was the first librarian of the Scottish Poetry Library and has held visiting lectureships or professorships at the Universities of Grenoble, Budapest, Connecticut and North Carolina.

Dr Hubbard will be introduced by the Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Sally Mapstone FRSE.

After the lecture, a Q&A and vote of thanks will be led by professor Catherine O'Leary, AVP Dean of Arts and Divinity.

The lecture will be followed by a Reception in Lower College Hall.
