Academic forum: Sustainability in the Curriculum

Sustainability is at the heart of the University Strategy. This Academic Forum will explore Education for Sustainable Development, which aims to develop “competencies that empower individuals to reflect on their own actions, taking into account their current and future social, cultural, economic and environmental impacts, from a local and a global perspective” (UNESCO, 2017).

We will discuss and share good practice about embedding sustainability in the curriculum and how each School can support students in developing key competencies for sustainability, such as systems thinking competency, future thinking, critical thinking, strategy and collaboration, integrated problem-solving, self-awareness and normative competency.
