The Buchanan Building is based in the centre of St Andrews and is home to the Department of Modern Languages. The Buchanan Theatre is a modern lecture theatre that has the capacity for 367 people and includes disabled access and an induction loop. There are also a further 8 seminar rooms which have the capacity for 14 to 26 people each.

While the Buchanan Theatre includes disabled access, there is no lift in the building to the upper levels where the seminar rooms are located.
