SUMMARY:Women empowering women
DESCRIPTION:How does Fairtrade dismantle inequality? Why should initiatives be driven by local women? Why are reusable sanitary products an example of women's empowerment? As a part of Fairtrade Fortnight 2021, the Feminist Society invites you to a talk with Naomi Lumutenga from the organisation HERS-EA (Higher Education Resource Services - East Africa) on Fairtrade and discussing women empowering women. We will be looking at a local project that has been hailed by the Ugandan government where women make affordable reusable sanitary products that are then distributed to girls and women attending school.
