SUMMARY:“Pope Francis: Journeys of a Peacemaker”
DESCRIPTION:This is the weekly seminar of the Centre for the Study of Religion and Politics (CSRP). Professor Mario I Aguilar, papal biographer, will be speaking about his forthcoming book on Pope Francis (Routledge), and the importance of papal visits, be they state or pastoral visits as well as the message conveyed, particularly that of the encyclicals Laudato Si' (2015) and Fratelli Tuti (2020). As Pope Francis prepares for his visit to Iraq in March, this is a good preparation session to understand his journeys abroad, even within the pandemic. The seminar will be delivered via Teams and you need to register through Dr E Stoddart at es61@st-andrews.ac.uk https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/pope-francis-journeys-of-a-peacemaker/
