DESCRIPTION:Madeleine Reeves is a Senior Lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Manchester.  She is the author of Border Work: Spatial Lives of the State in Rural Central Asia and the co-editor, most recently, of The Everyday Lives of Sovereignty: Political Imagination Beyond the State, with Rebecca Bryant.  Her research lies in the anthropology of politics, ethics and the transformation of place in the context of transnational labour migration.
