DESCRIPTION:A Research Seminar of the School of Modern Languages:    Research in science and speculative fiction has moved beyond its initially narrow concentration on Western and particularly Anglophone literary production and has turned its focus to other contexts, traditions, and horizons. This 'New Directions' session will bring together scholars working across fictional texts produced in Russia, Iraq, and in the aftermath of the Holocaust:      Dr Emily Finer (St Andrews): 'Translanguaging on the ISS'    Dr Annie Webster (Cambridge/KCL): 'Ruins of the Future: On the Possibility of Life in the Aṭlāl'   Dr Glyn Morgan (Science Museum London): 'New Reflections: Science Fiction and the Holocaust's Continued Memory    The discussion will be chaired by Dr Sarah Arens (St Andrews).
