SUMMARY:St Margaret of Scotland Lecture (2021)
DESCRIPTION:The St Margaret of Scotland Annual Lecture (2021) will be delivered by Sister Catherine Droste, O.P., Professor of Theology and Dean of the Faculty of Theology at the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas, Rome. This year, the lecture will take place online via Microsoft Teams. The Lecture, 'Catherine of Siena: A Message for Today', will be introduced by the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Sally Mapstone. His excellency, Archbishop Leo Cushley, will conclude the event with a reflection. Attendance is free and open to the public. We ask you to register online so we can keep track of numbers. Please register via the link provided below. Any questions can be directed to Dr Rebekah Lamb on rl89@st-Andrews.ac.uk. The St Margaret of Scotland Annual Lecture commemorates the life and legacy of Queen Margaret of Scotland, focusing on intersections between Catholicism and theology or the arts. The Annual Lecture launched in February 2020 through the generous support of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh (Canmore Chaplaincy), the School of Divinity at the University of St Andrews, the University Chaplaincy, St Salvator's Choir, and the Office of the Principal. This annual event celebrates the links between the University’s School of Divinity and Canmore, the Chaplaincy for University Catholics in St Andrews. Traditionally, the lecture is accompanied by a choral Mass, presided over by his excellency, Archbishop Leo Cushley, in St Salvator's University Chapel. However, due to the pandemic restrictions currently in place the choral Mass has been cancelled and Archbishop Cushley will offer a reflection after the Lecture and Q&A. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/st-margaret-of-scotland-lecture-2021/
