SUMMARY:AstroSoc: navigate the stars
DESCRIPTION:This event will teach people how to navigate with stars, using a projector to simulate the sky on the ceiling and the committee's knowledge. There will also be demonstrations with old navy sea maps.    The event will include information on how to identify the constellations and stars needed to figure out compass directions, a skill which can be transferred to sailing, walking and learning to adapt when lost. It teaches people how to use their knowledge as a group to navigate.    There will also be an opportunity to get people involved to work as a socially distanced group to practise navigating.
