SUMMARY:Ethics, Faith and the Climate Emergency
DESCRIPTION:A talk and discussion hosted by the University Chaplain, Revd Dr Donald MacEwan with visiting speaker Robin Attfield, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy, Cardiff University. About the speaker: Robin Attfield's interests as a Quaker and philosopher span both theology and the environment, their connections, and how they inform each other. He has recently published Environmental Ethics: A Very Short Introduction, Oxford University Press. Other work includes several books on ethics and ecological issues, and Wonder, Value and God. He has participated in the Environmental Ethics Working Party of UNESCO, and has served on the Council of the Royal Institute of Philosophy. Robin Attfield’s work is both prescient and relevant to the urgent challenges of re-thinking our place in the environment. The Microsoft Teams Event link to join the meeting on the day can be found on the Chaplaincy Events webpage. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/ethics-faith-and-the-climate-emergency-2/
