SUMMARY:Museums in the University of St Andrews: past, present and future
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to invite you to join us for our first live Development ‘Saints Talk’ Lecture. Dr Catherine Eagleton, Director of Museums at the University, will present ‘Museums in the University of St Andrews: past, present and future’. In 1838, a group of University and local people got together to found the first University museum at St Andrews, working together to fund the new museum and to assemble an impressive collection. Since then, the museums have been a social and cultural hub, connecting the University to the local community, and to people around the world. Now, 182 years later, as we prepare to open the new Wardlaw Museum, Dr Catherine Eagleton will give a whistle-stop tour of the past, present and future of museums at the University of St Andrews, and a sneak preview of our newest University museum. Join the event on Tuesday 16 June 2020 at 5pm (BST) via MS Teams. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/saints-talk-museums-in-the-university-of-st-andrews-past-present-and-future/
