SUMMARY:Population and Health Research Group Seminar by Dr Adam Dennett, UCL
DESCRIPTION:Adam Dennett, UCL Unpacking the Nuances of London’s Neighbourhood Change & Gentrification Trajectories (with Joshua Yee) This presentation reports on a novel empirical approach to systematically examine the past and future trajectories of neighbourhood change across London. Using suite of different data sets relating to London’s population, house prices and built environment development, the nature of gentrification’s mutations and its spatial patterning in London are extracted using a combination of Principal Component Analysis, K-Means clustering and in-depth spatial analysis. Machine Learning is subsequently adopted to model gentrification’s observed trends and predict its future frontiers thereby offering policy-makers unprecedented and highly-contextualised insights into gentrification’s projected dynamics and geographies https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/population-and-health-research-group-seminar-by-dr-adam-dennett/
