SUMMARY:Inclusive and sustainable futures for Scotland
DESCRIPTION:Scotland has a track record of global impact on matters of sustainability, being one of the first countries to implement legally binding targets (Climate Change Act 2009) and develop a Loss and Damage Fund to support countries experiencing the effects of climate change (2022). Ahead of the upcoming Scottish parliamentary elections in May, there is growing interest in debating how political parties could build on this reputation and support sustainability efforts at both local and international levels.    The St Andrews Centre for Critical Sustainabilities (StACCS) and the Centre for Energy Ethics (CEE) are hosting a panel discussion to provide an opportunity to engage in a debate on this topic. The public event will feature representatives from the following sustainability groups, which are based across Fife:     	Caeleigh Alexander, Environment Officer, University of St Andrews Students' Association   	Gavin Brady, Chief Executive Officer, St Andrews Environmental Network   	Shona Cargill, Lead Officer (Sustainable Development), Fife Council   	Karen Laing, Director of Sustainability Transformation, University of St Andrews   	Alistair MacLeod, Project Manager, Transition St Andrews   	Rebecca Petford, Programme Manager, Greener Kirkaldy (Lead Partner, Climate Action Fife)    Come along to find out about our region's most pressing sustainability priorities, understand the challenges faced by local organisations, and explore how community-led action can contribute to Scotland's wider international reputation for climate leadership and help drive meaningful global progress towards a more socially and environmentally just future.
