DESCRIPTION:Dr Maisha Wester is a Lecturer in the School of English at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research investigates racial representation in Gothic Literature and Horror Film, and socio-political appropriations of Gothic and Horror tropes in racial discourses.    She has previously been a Fulbright Scholar and a British Academy sponsored Global Professor in the School of English at Sheffield University, where she co-directed the Centre for the History of the Gothic and developed Coded Black, a social justice video game.
