SUMMARY:Scottish Chamber Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:A feast of Slavic sensibilities as Joseph Swensen is joined by SCO leader Stephanie Gonley in Janáček’s ghostly ballad The Fiddler’s Child for violin and orchestra. Joseph Suk’s substantial and genial Serenade for Strings attracted the admiration of no less a figure than Johannes Brahms, whilst the second half features Dvorák’s lyrical, pastoral Fifth Symphony; harkening back to Beethoven’s own Pastoral symphony in the same key. Tickets available in advance from the Byre Box Office. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/scottish-chamber-orchestra-3/
