SUMMARY:CIMS PG Symposium: 'Memory, Habitat, and the Anthropocene'
DESCRIPTION:This year's postgraduate symposium is hosted by the Cultural Identity and Memory Studies Institute (CIMS) with financial support from the St Leonard's Postgraduate College Community Fund. Memory, Habitat, and the Anthropocene will bring together postgraduate students with an interest in memory, the natural world, and the Anthropocene. The event will provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary thinking and discussion, where academia and art can be explored in a lively and interactive forum. This year's symposium will involve a keynote speech by Professor Kirsty Robertson entitled Shadow Collection: Chemical Intimacies and Plastic Memory in the Museum, a series of flashtalks, a PG panel discussion, and a hands-on artistic workshop with Melody Bellefeuille-Frost. The event is open to our University-wide postgraduate community and academic staff. If you would like to attend, please book a ticket via this event page as numbers are limited. We will take your booking as confirmation that you are able to attend the full day's events, from 10am to 4.30pm, starting from registration and finishing with the artist's workshop. Should you not be able to attend a portion of the day, please reach out to us as soon as possible and we will try and make alternative accommodations.
