SUMMARY:International Negotiations in Times of Crisis
DESCRIPTION:In this event, a backchannel negotiator will tell us about his experiences in negotiating in the Gaza conflict and in the Russia-Ukraine war, as well as other recent crises. This will be an interactive question and answer session, and an opportunity to learn more about a practitioner's view on the merits of diplomacy and on the challenges diplomats face in trying to negotiate an end to these conflicts. Because these are ongoing negotiations, this event will be held with strict confidentiality measures in place: we ask attendees to not share what is discussed in this event with others and to leave all their electronic devices at home or (if necessary) outside of the room.
