SUMMARY:Introduction to dementia and making the most of retained skills
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will be of interest to those who are interested in dementia or those who are caring for an individual with a diagnosis. The basics of dementia and its impact will be covered as well as some strategies for making the most of retained skills for individuals with a diagnosis and those who care for them. A previous participant commented: "Brilliant workshop, really helped me to get an understanding of how dementia effects the patient and families. Very helpful for me personally as I now understand more about my Grandfather's deteriorating health." The course will be delivered by Dr Maggie Ellis who leads the Dementia Friendly St Andrews campaign. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/introduction-to-dementia-and-making-the-most-of-retained-skills/
