SUMMARY:Energy Cafe: Imagery and community agency in energy futures
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Gair Dunlop. Whether it's enormous offshore wind developments or the slow drawdown of nuclear facilities, community agency in relation to infrastructure is a key factor in securing energy transition. Visual and creative art strategies can have a key role to play in understanding relations between regionality, technologies, stakeholder organisations and policy. Deploying examples from Dounreay, North Norfolk and current work in development, Gair Dunlop will explore the us of film archive material, multiscreen display technologies, and film production as an engagement methodology. The Energy Café is an informal, open and inclusive space where people across University of St Andrews, from undergraduates to Professors Emeriti, can come together for an hour to share ideas about the energy research they are working on. It is intended to encourage collaborations, expand research horizons, and inspire new ideas and questions about issues of energy. Hosted by the Centre for Energy Ethics, the Energy Café is not limited to one discipline, one department or one school -- it is open to everyone. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/energy-cafe-imagery-and-community-agency-in-energy-futures/
