SUMMARY:John Pineda workshop
DESCRIPTION:For School of English undergraduates only. In this workshop, novelist and poet Jon Pineda will discuss approaches to publishing across different genres of writing and offer advice on how to submit work to literary journals and magazines, literary agents, and publishers. Jon Pineda is the author of six books: two novels, three poetry collections, and one memoir. His work has appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies, including the New York Times Magazine, Shenandoah, and Sierra Club, and has twice received the Library of Virginia Literary Award (one for fiction and one for poetry). Jon is a core faculty member in the MFA programme at Queens University of Charlotte and has taught in their Latin America MFA programme in Rio de Janeiro and in Buenos Aires. He has served on the teaching faculty at Kundiman, a "national nonprofit organisation dedicated to nurturing generations of writers and readers of Asian American Literature", and is Associate Professor of English at the College of William & Mary, where he directs the Creative Writing programme. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/john-pineda-workshop/
