SUMMARY:Post-Positivism from Below: Exploring the 'Constitutive Outside of Critical IR' 
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Professor Pinar Bilgin who will be resident in the School of International Relations as part of the University Global Fellow Scheme from 5 November to 3 December 2022. She will hold a School Seminar on 9 November at 4:00 in the Arts Lecture Theatre     A Short Bio: Many of you will know Professor Bilgin already, as a previous visitor to the School or from the larger world of International Relations where she occupies a distinguished place. She is a professor of International Relations at Bilkent University, Turkey, a member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, and president of the World International Studies Consortium, as well having been involved on the executive boards of the International Studies Association and its European and Central European counterparts. She has been a visiting professor at Kings College London, the University of Southern Denmark, the University of Amsterdam, the Pontifical Catholic University in Brazil, and a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at Princeton. Professor Bilgin is an associate editor of International Studies Quarterly, co-editor of the Palgrave series on Critical Security Studies in the Global South and of the Routledge Handbook of International Political Sociology, while also sitting on numerous editorial boards, including, among others, International Studies Quarterly, International Political Sociology, and Journal of International Relations. Her own published work, particularly related to the Middle East, Critical Security Studies and Global International Relations is extensive and highly regarded, including, among others, Regional Security in the Middle East: A Critical Perspective; The International in Security, Security in the International and numerous articles in world-class journals and edited books.      The Seminar: Unfortunately, the original seminar time had to be rescheduled because Professor Bilgin did not receive her visa in time and the options at the point of rescheduling were very limited. There are two other seminars on Wednesday, 9 November - although not at the same time - but please do try to come to her School Seminar if at all possible.
