SUMMARY:PGR Symposium: Memory, Crisis and Estrangement
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a highly stimulating day of ideas, discussions, and even short films touching on the themes of memory, crisis and estrangement. We are very excited that Prof. Stef Craps (Ghent University, Belgium) will deliver the keynote lecture, 'The Work of Mourning in an Age of Ecocide'. We are also hugely excited that we will feature a sneak preview of a brand new short film: 'Be by my side', a touching meditation on the appeal of narratives about 'hero journeys'---set against the backdrop of a very literal 'burnout' crisis---written and directed by Eden Igwe (School of English) and produced by Julia Lurfovř (School of Geography and Sustainable Development). We are very grateful to the financial support of the St Leonard's Postgraduate College Community Fund. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/pgr-symposium-memory-crisis-and-estrangement/
