DESCRIPTION:Please join us for another two fascinating talks celebrating 2018 Year of the Woman.    "War and Peace" - Billy Kenefick.    By 1918 one working women in three was a direct replacement for a man in service and as a result employment among women increased by almost a third to reach three million. With the average weekly wage increasing from £1 to £5 women had more disposal income than ever before. War had changed women's lives and much of it positively. But was this sustainable or indeed desirable in peacetime?    "Emiliene Moureau - Heroine of Loos" - Derek Patrick    Emiliene Moreau, a seventeen year old school teacher provided invaluable assistance to the men of the 19th Black Watch during the Battle of Loos on 25 September 1915.
