DESCRIPTION:The Fourth Horseman: apocalypse now or apocalypse deferred.  It appears that there are daily reports of new plagues of killer viruses and the post-antibiotic age is daily predicted. This talk will explore infectious disease as the agent of apocalypse and the role of St Andrews researchers in preventing or mitigating the risk.    The development events team are delighted to invite you to join fellow alumni, friends and supporters of the University of St Andrews at a reception, lecture and Q&A session with Professor Stephen Gillespie, Foundation Sir James Black Chair of Medicine.
