SUMMARY:A woman’s right to know: a history of pregnancy testing in Britain
DESCRIPTION:The next School of History Late Modern History Research Seminar will feature visiting speaker Dr Jesse Olszynko-Gryn. He will speak about the history of the pregnancy test in Britain, sharing his recent research about the controversial and little-studied technology from 1900 to the present. Showing how the demand for pregnancy testing shifted from doctors to women, and how representations of pregnancy tests have changed in popular culture and medicine, Dr Olszynko-Gryn presents a new and important insight into the history of reproduction. More information about Olszynko-Gryn’s work can be found via the University of Cambridge. The seminar will be taking place in  St Katharine’s Lodge, Room 1.10. https://events.st-andrews.ac.uk/events/a-womans-right-to-know-a-history-of-pregnancy-testing-in-britain-with-dr-jesse-olyzynko-gryn/
