SUMMARY:Booker Prize Project: Graeme Macrae Burnet Lecture
DESCRIPTION:For the tenth year in a row, the University of St Andrews is working with the Booker Prize Foundation to celebrate great contemporary fiction and encourage new undergraduates to join with the wider St Andrews community in a shared conversation about literature and ideas.    This year’s St Andrews Booker Prize novel is His Bloody Project, by Scottish author Graeme Macrae Burnet, published by Contraband.    Shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2016, His Bloody Project is an artful and gothically compelling set of accounts about a remote crofting community in 19th-century Scotland rocked by three brutal murders.    Hosted by the Principal, Professor Sally Mapstone, Graeme Macrae Burnet will be coming to St Andrews to talk about his work.    Following this there will be a question and answer session. There will also be a book signing after the lecture.    This event is free and open to all to attend. It will take place in the Buchanan Lecture Theatre.
