Why does patriarchy persist? Why is populism persuasive?

A lecture by Professor Marcia Pally (above left) and Professor Carol Gilligan (above right).

Populism fuelled the Brexit vote and also Trump's election, but why is populism persuasive?

Carol Gilligan and Marcia Pally will join their questions about populism and patriarchy to ask: is populism persuasive in part because patriarchy persists? Both are fuelled by loss and in this talk Gilligan and Pally will explore how a psychology of loss plays into the politics of our time.
