Sri Ramana Maharshi and Sri Aurobindo: new perspectives on interfaith dialogue

Weekly Centre for the Study of Religion and Politics (CSRP) seminar presented by Isaac Portilla at St Mary's College Hall.

Abstract: The Indian sages Ramana Maharshi and Aurobindo are two crucial figures in understanding contemporary Western spirituality and its search for inspiration from the East. This seminar will explore interfaith dialogue through the lens of Ramana ("the whitest spot in a white space" according to Carl Jung) and Aurobindo ("the greatest intellectual of our age" according to India's ex-president Radhakrishnan), and the Hindu-Christian interfaith tradition.
