Grammy-nominated Carolyn Sampson has sung in opera houses throughout the world, at Carnegie Hall in New York and with artists including Ricardo Chailly, Oslo Vanska and Sir Mark Elder. Her special affinity with the music of France provides the backdrop to the climax of this evening's all-French programme, which includes a performance of Berlioz's song cycle Summer Nights, the charismatic Francois Leleux who guides the orchestra's winds through Gounod's little symphony, and much-loved works by Debussy.
