The School of International Relations invites you to join us as we launch the latest publication from Professor Phillips O'Brien – The Second Most Powerful Man in the World: The Life of Admiral William D. Leahy, Roosevelt's Chief of Staff.
Introduced by Professor David Reynolds a Professor of International History at Cambridge University and a Fellow of the British Academy. He is author of twelve books, including In Command of History: Churchill Fighting and Writing the Second World War , which won the Wolfson Prize.
Most recently he has published The Kremlin Letters: Stalin's Wartime Correspondence with Roosevelt and Churchill , with Vladimir Pechatnov, and
Island Stories: Britain and its History in the Age of Brexit , which appears in October.
