"Protest and Persistence: Analysing the Sweida Movement's Dynamics and Future Pathways." CSS Teams Event - email irevents for the link to take part.
“The protest movement that erupted in Sweida last year continues to gain attention, particularly as it unfolds in a region predominantly inhabited by the Druzes. These protests, primarily led by the Druze community, a prominent religious minority in the region, have been driven by grievances over economic deterioration, corruption, and the demand for political reforms. This webinar aims to dissect the unique dynamics of the movement, exploring how persistent activism among the Druze has shaped their methods and objectives, and to project potential future developments within this socio-political landscape. The discussion seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the resilience and evolving strategy of the protesters in the face of both local and national challenges.”
