Music Talk by Fred Freeman: Robert Tannahill's 250th anniversary --- Radical Ballads - FREE

Robet Tannahill lived just after Robert Burns, and his song lyrics brought a distinctive west-coast working class voice into Scottish national song.  Fred Freeman has recently completed an ambitious 18-year project, working with many of the best known contemporary folk musicians in Scotland, to record the Complete Songs of Robert Tannahill (5 CDs).  This talk will introduce the life and work of the weaver-poet, and include illustrations of material from the recording project.
