Meet the Entrepreneur – Rachel Hanretty, Founder, Mademoiselle Macaron
Enterprise Week 2020 welcomes Rachel Hanretty, alumna of St Andrews and Founder of Mademoiselle Macaron. Come along to hear Rachel explain her journey as an entrepreneur.
Rachel Hanretty studied English and French literature at St Andrews and had grand plans to be a writer and journalist after her year out in Paris where she worked for the New York Times and taught English. However, after struggling to find a full-time job in her chosen fields, it was just one brief experience in Paris that determined her career: a cooking class making macarons.
In 2013 she made macarons at home and sold them at weekend markets. Now, in 2020, she employs 10 members of staff and makes thousands of macarons a week. With the belief that every Mademoiselle and Monsieur deserves a moment of luxury, Mademoiselle Macaron has gone from strength to strength to deliver macarons across the UK and beyond.
This lecture is free and open to everyone, students, staff and the public.
This event will be run over Microsoft Teams. Please sign up to attend, and a link to join the session will be emailed to you 1 hour before the event starts.
