Peter Johnstone is a Scottish jazz pianist, organist, composer and educator, and a distinctive voice on the UK jazz scene. As both bandleader and sideman, he has performed with leading international artists including Kurt Elling, Joe Locke and Will Vinson, as well as many prominent Scottish and UK musicians. In this lunchtime concert, he explores material from his doctoral project, ‘The New Romantic' (examining Rachmaninoff through jazz composition and harmonic language), alongside his original music and the talents of the Music Centre's jazz scholars.
