The legacy of prolific Russian composer Nikolai Medtner has paled in comparison to those of contemporaries Rachmaninoff and Scriabin but his music is noble, profoundly introspective and intricately crafted. Kazakh pianist and RCS doctoral-candidate Sholpan Miller performs four of Medtner's Four Fairy Tales, op. 26 and is joined by soprano Masha McMinn in his Eight Poems after Tyutchev and Fet, op 24.
