Lunchtime concert by Ruth Naomi Floyd and Laidlaw Music Centre Jazz Scholars

The first African-American woman to serve as Founding Director of a University Jazz Studies Programme in the United States, Ruth Naomi Floyd is much admired for her commitment to sacred jazz expression and the distinctive emotional integrity of her vocals. She is joined by pianist James Weidman, stalwart of the world's most prestigious jazz venues, and celebrated performer and educator, drummer Mark Prince as well as Music Centre jazz scholars and Honorary Professor Richard Michael. An unmissable event!
