A contemporary journey through Shakespearean imagination and Elizabethan soundworlds, with composers Sally Beamish, Rory Boyle and Paul Max Edlin re-shaping the magic, melodies and instruments of the past. Each work offers a fresh perspective on historical material—from Prospero's sorcery to the inventive dances of Farnaby and Byrd, and the ancient voice of the natural trumpet. The programme highlights how these influences animate today's music with clarity, colour and a renewed sense of character.
