Annual Lecture in the History of Women, Gender and Sexuality Inexplicable men of genius and what to do about them: a study in predicaments and alarms in the historiography of early Christian women
Blossom Stefaniw is Professor of Intellectual History at MF University College in Oslo where she teaches in the Religious Studies department. Her research interests include theory and method in feminist historiography, especially the historiography of early Christian women.
Professor Stefaniw's current writing projects examine questionable efforts at gendered inclusion in exhibits, textbooks and anthologies. She applies diverse theoretical resources to these cases in order to propel the question of feminist historiography beyond categories of importance, positive representation or mere presence.
Professor Stefaniw is seeking to develop an approach to feminist historiography which empowers the analysis, critique, and discarding of received patriarchal historiographies not just on political or ethical grounds, but on grounds of ordinary methodological mistakes and shoddy craftsmanship.
